BUSINESS CASE DEVELOPMENT FOR RECORDS AND INFORMATION MANAGERS


Aims:

This course aims to provide participants with an introduction and overview of business case planning, development and communication and provides participants with the basic building blocks required to develop a well structured, reasoned and communicated business case. The course uses examples and scenarios from the information management field in order to highlight key requirements for success.


Outcomes:

By the end of this training session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain what a business case is, its importance and purpose.
  • Outline basic steps required to develop a business case.
  • Carry out a situation analysis and identify possible solutions for a particular business case.
  • Identify costs, benefits and risks associated with a particular business case.
  • Communicate and promote a business case.
  • Outline reasons for business case failure.
  • Identify key issues and challenges associated with developing a business case.
  • Develop a structured, well reasoned and communicated business case.
