DESIGNING AND IMPLEMENTING A RECORDS SYSTEM (DIRS) STEPS A-C

Aims:

This course aims to provide participants with a practical approach to designing and implementing a records system, steps A-C. The course follows recordkeeping best practice as outlined in AS/IOS 15489 for Records Management.


Outcomes:

By the end of this training session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify today's recordkeeping practices and systems.
  • Identify the characteristics of records and recordkeeping systems.
  • Identify requirements and products of DIRS steps A-C.
  • Ascertain your organisations strengths and weaknesses in managing records.
  • Assess your organisations responsibility for records and its compliance with external requirements to create and keep records.
  • Analyse the functions, activities and transactions of your organisation in order to create recordkeeping tools.
  • Identify recordkeeping requirements to create, receive and keep records for as long as they are required over time and space.
