DISASTER PREPAREDNESS

Aims:

This course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills to interpret and implement disaster preparedness and response principles in their organisations.


Outcomes:

By the end of this training session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify disaster management standards and guidelines.
  • Identify potential threats to an organisation's records.
  • Identify vital records.
  • Provide a brief outline of key disaster preparedness steps.
  • Identify disaster preventative and preparatory measures that can be taken to protect records.
  • Explain response and recovery actions to be taken in the event of a disaster.
  • Identify records salvage priorities and methodologies.
  • Outline and explain key requirements of a disaster recovery and response plan.
  • Identify the methodology and requirements for conducting a post-implementation review and ongoing compliance monitoring of a disaster management plan.

Participants are provided with a course booklet and additional handouts.
