Aims:

This course will provide participants with the practical skills required to identify and interpret privacy legislation as well as the relevant privacy principles for implementation into an agency. The course will also provide participants with an introduction and practical approach to developing and implementing a privacy plan.

Outcomes:

By the end of this training session, participants will be able to:

• Identify Federal government and private sector privacy requirements.
• Identify privacy requirements for State government agencies.
• Interpret 'personal information' and identify types of personal information held by agencies.
• Outline National and State privacy principles.
• Prepare an information audit questionnaire.
• Develop and implement a privacy program.

Participants are provided with a course booklet and additional handouts.
