PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR RECORDS AND INFORMATION MANAGERS

Aims:

This course will introduce records managers to the basic requirements of managing a project, irrespective its size and nature. It will cover the nature of a project and project management, designing and planning projects, developing project briefs, scheduling, resourcing and reporting, issue and change control, project completion, and provide practical examples of application of the methodology to specific records management projects.


Outcomes:

By the end of this training session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe a project.
  • Describe project management.
  • Design and plan a records management project.
  • Develop a records management project brief.
  • Schedule project tasks.
  • Report on project progress.
  • Identify issues and develop ways of controlling them, including change management.
  • Identify project completion activities.
