Lynne
Real has been actively involved in the field of records and
information management since 1992. Prior to commencing her
records management career, Lynne was responsible for the administration

Science, Ms Real undertook the Records Management elective,
which covered all aspects of recordkeeping from the point
of creation to disposal.
Her specific
records management experience includes the previous appointment
as Records Manager with the Department of Training & Education
Co-ordination. During this time, and in her previous position
with the former Department of Industrial Relations, Employment,
Training and Further Education, she was responsible for:
-
charting
the flow of information within the office of the Minister
for Education
-
observing
work practices and liaising with staff to assess needs
-
establishing
correspondence and general records management procedures
and systems
-
evaluating
and implementing records management software (as Project
Leader for the Records Management Evaluation Committee)
-
implementing
records disposal programs and liaising with the NSW Archives
Authority (now State Records)
implementation and maintenance of a departmental thesaurus
and procedures manual
Ms Real
undertook a major in Computer Information Technology, as
part of the Bachelor of Applied Science degree, and has
been able to apply many of the skills learned in her studies
to practical information management solutions.
