The course is based on concepts from AS ISO 15489, together with practical records management standards and guidelines. HP-TRIM Training
 

SSA offer several HP-TRIM training courses ranging from a basic End-User course to the more advanced Administrator course (for staff who are responsible for managing their TRIM system). All HP-TRIM courses aim to provide participants with a working knowledge of the TRIM system. The courses are primarily hands on and give participants the opportunity to work in a TRIM dataset (includes scenarios and exercises).

Compiling & Implementing a Records Management Classification Scheme
 

This course aims to provide participants with the background knowledge and skills to compile a functional thesaurus used to classify documents, create file titles, and index records. Participants will have several opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills learnt through practical activities and exercises.

Compiling a Records Retention & Disposal Authority
 

This course will provide participants with the background knowledge and skills required to confidently compile and implement a records retention and disposal authority within an organisation. Retention & Disposal of Public Health Sector Records
 

This course provides participants with information on how to use a retention and disposal authority, with particular emphasis on using General Retention and Disposal Authorities 17 and 21. Participants learn about implementing disposal including records storage and destruction, and transfer of archives.

Train-the-Trainer
 

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to develop training techniques, including identifying training needs, preparing, designing, delivering and reviewing training sessions. Participants will be given the opportunity practice techniques learnt during the session through hands-on exercises and activities.

Records Titling & Indexing
 

This course aims to provide participants with an overview of records titling and indexing tools, such as traditional records classification schemes, subject thesauri and faceted classification. The course provides participants with the practical skills and knowledge to identify the structure and components of a records classification scheme, use a records classification scheme to classify records, and implement measures to control free text titling. There will be a number of opportunities to apply the knowledge learnt through interactive activities and exercises.

Recordkeeping for Management & Staff
 

This brief session (30 – 60 minutes) is designed to raise management and general staff awareness in relation to the need for sound business information management.   The message is presented in a light-hearted manner, includes various examples of poor practices and risks, and provides a series of simple steps that will lead to improvements.  Many organisations have engaged SSA to provide this session as an interim step to information management improvement projects.

Recordkeeping Fundamentals in the Health Sector
 

This course aims to provide participants with an overview, familiarity and working knowledge of records management fundamentals in the health sector, including compliance requirements and proven practice, and the knowledge to commence implementation of improvements in the way participants create, title, manage, maintain and dispose of records. This course focuses on specific records managment issues and matters relevant to the health sector, and records disposal processes in accordance with public health sector retention and disposal authorities.
