ABOUT THIS COURSE
This course aims to provide participants with an advanced working knowledge of the Content Manager (CM) system. The course takes a hands-on approach to learning within a pre-configured CM dataset, incorporating practical exercises to allow participants to work through and become familiar with the more advanced user functionality of the system. The course will explore and encourage discussions with regard to typical system configurations and settings to ensure participants feel comfortable transferring knowledge and skills to their day-to-day working environment.
This course is designed both for those who are new to CM (with general computer proficiency), as well as those familiar with CM and wishing to further advance their knowledge and skills in the system. This course would also suit those whose role includes providing ‘super user’ or ‘power user’ support for other general system users within their organisations.
From a practical perspective, by the end of this course, participants will be able to:
conduct complex searches, including trouble-shooting search queries
register documents and emails within the system using a variety of methods and advanced system options (including via linked folders)
update, manage and maintain documents and emails, as required, over time
create, modify and manage containers (folders and boxes)
set up and manage external locations within the system
maintain records, including reporting on specified records holdings
manage record revisions and versions
create and maintain workflow templates
establish and maintain system alerts and integration options
customise the system interface and options to meet individual user needs and preferences.
In addition, participants will be able to:
clearly discuss and explain the role, purpose and value of Content Manager (or similar electronic document and content management systems)
outline the information management concepts and principles that underpin the system.
