Hillary Clinton Caught Out with Email and Recordkeeping
We see it all the time in our profession, but it makes the headlines when it happens to a would-be president of the US.
Some classic statements in these articles include:
“A journalist seeking records on a certain topic, for example, might not get anything back from a State Department database search because the emails weren't captured.” (CBC News, Hillary Clinton's email mess: what you need to know – March 10, 2015). Who would have thought!
Ms Clinton claims her lawyer “had turned over all of her work-related emails” to the State Department. But apparently and rather surprisingly, this was undertaken by printing the “work-related” messages. Ms Clinton said that when requested by the State Department: “I responded right away and provided all my emails that could possibly be work-related, which totaled roughly 55,000 printed pages…” (New York Times, Questions Regarding Hillary Clinton's Personal Email Use –March 10, 2015)
